Wave 2 Primary Care Transformation Fund

CCG’s were been invited to submit bids for wave 2 of the PCTF in October 2015 (the original letter can be found here). These bids are due in by the end of February 2016, although to date the guidance CCG’s need to process applications from Practice’s is yet to be issued, so it is understood this deadline will shift. Along side wave 2 of the PCTF applications, the Primary Care Premises Directions are also due to be reissued in April 2016 before final decisions on wave 2 PCTF bids are made in May 2016. It is hoped that the changes will resolve many of the issues encountered in wave 1 with committing capital to new build schemes.

Moving forward it is clear that for Practice’s to be successful in securing funding from wave 2, they will need clear CCG support for their project and consistency with their CCG Estate Strategy. Bids will also need to demonstrate how projects can help CCG’s and the wider NHS deliver on the Five Year Forward view, and in particular guidance issued here in December 2015.
